eUDST Terms & Conditions

These eUDST Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) together with the applicable policies and procedures of the University of Doha for Science and Technology (“University”, “UDST”, “we”, “our” or “us”) set out the terms on which a user of eUDST (“User(s)”, “you” or “your”) may access and use eUDST, the University's online learning platform available at http://udst.edu.qa/eudst and any related mobile applications (together,“eUDST”), including browsing course content, registering for an account, and purchasing, enrolling in, or completing courses, microcredentials, or other learning products (together, “Courses”) offered on eUDST. Please read these Terms carefully before you start to use eUDST. By creating an account, enrolling in, accessing, browsing, registering on, or purchasing a Course through eUDST, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and agree to be bound by them, together with UDST's Privacy Policy and eUDST Online Learning Code of Conduct for Using Online set out in Appendix A, together with applicable UDST policies, procedures, regulations and requirements. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not access or use eUDST. The University reserves the right to modify these Terms from time to time, including to reflect changes in the law, Courses, or the operation of eUDST. Material changes will be indicated by an updated “Last Revised” date and, where reasonably practicable, notified to registered Users. Any changes will take effect from the date specified in the revised Terms. Your continued access to or use of eUDST after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If there is any inconsistency between the documents governing a Course, the following order of precedence applies, unless expressly stated otherwise: (a) applicable law; (b) any Course-specific terms accepted by the User; (c) these Terms; (d) Appendix A; and (e) other applicable University policies and procedures.

1. Eligibility and Registration

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account and keep that

information up to date.

You must be at least 18 years old to independently create an account, purchase a Course or accept these Terms.

If you are under 18 years of age, you may register for and use eUDST only with the involvement and consent of your parent or legal guardian, and, where necessary, we may establish additional eligibility requirements for particular Courses.

UDST may impose minimum-age, identity, educational, professional, residency or other eligibility requirements

for a particular Course. Enrolment may be refused or cancelled where those requirements are not satisfied.

UDST may verify the information you provide and may refuse, suspend, or cancel a registration where the

information is false, misleading, or materially incomplete.

Where applicable, the nominating organisation may be responsible for providing or facilitating the provision of

participant information necessary for registration and Course administration.

You must not create an account using another person’s identity or provide information that you are not

authorized to provide.

Where a User is nominated or sponsored by an employer or other organization, that organization is responsible

for ensuring that it has lawful authority to provide the User’s information to the University. Sponsorship or nomination does not relieve the User from compliance with these Terms.

2. Your Account and Password

Where you are provided with a username, password, or other login credential as part of eUDST's security procedures, you must treat this information as confidential and must not disclose it to any third party.

An account is personal to you. It must not be shared with, transferred to, or used by any other person, and you

are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including any Course access, submissions, assessments, or purchases made using it.

You must notify UDST promptly of any known or suspected unauthorized use of your account or breach of

security.

UDST may suspend or disable your account or login credentials where reasonably necessary to protect the

security of eUDST, the University’s systems, or other users, or where required by applicable law.

You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to eUDST, including a

compatible device, software, and internet connection.

The University may require identity verification, multi-factor authentication or periodic credential resets. You

must not attempt to avoid or interfere with those measures.

The University may communicate with you through the contact information associated with your account. You

are responsible for keeping that information current.

3. Enrolment and Access

Course listings, descriptions, syllabi, schedules, instructors, and prerequisites shown on eUDST are provided for general guidance and are subject to change. The University undertakes continuous review of its Courses and reserves the right, where it reasonably considers it necessary, to:

alter the timetable, delivery mode, content, instructor, or assessment method of a Course, provided such

alterations are reasonable;

make reasonable variations to the content and syllabus of a Course where necessary for academic quality,

operational, technical, security, legal or regulatory reasons;

postpone, combine, or cancel a Course where there is insufficient enrolment or for reasons beyond the

University's reasonable control; and

suspend or discontinue a Course or any part of eUDST where reasonably necessary for academic, operational,

technical, security, legal, regulatory or other legitimate University reasons. Access to a Course is granted for the duration and on the basis (e.g., self-paced, time-limited access window) stated on the relevant Course page at the time of enrolment or purchase. Enrolment in a Course does not, by itself:

constitute admission to the University or confer University student status;
entitle the User to academic credit;
guarantee recognition by an employer, educational institution, regulator, accreditation body or professional

licensing authority; or

guarantee employment, promotion, admission or any other professional or academic outcome.

The University may establish requirements for attendance, participation, identity verification, assessment and successful completion. A certificate, badge, micro-credential or other record of completion will be issued only where those requirements are satisfied. The University may withhold, correct, invalidate or revoke a credential where it was issued in error, obtained through fraud, impersonation or academic misconduct, or is otherwise invalid under applicable University requirements. The University may maintain and disclose verification information reasonably necessary to establish the authenticity or status of a credential, in accordance with applicable law and the Privacy Policy.

4. Fees, Payment and Refunds

Certain Courses are offered free of charge; others require payment of a fee as stated on eUDST at the time of registration.

Unless otherwise stated on the applicable Course page, Course fees are payable in full at the time of enrolment.

Fees are stated in Qatari Riyals (QAR) and include or exclude applicable taxes and charges as indicated at checkout. The amount and currency displayed for confirmation immediately before payment will govern the transaction.

Payment card information is processed by the applicable third-party payment service provider in accordance

with its terms and privacy practices. UDST does not retain full payment card details.

By submitting payment through eUDST, you agree to these Terms and confirm that you are authorised to use

the payment method provided.

The University may correct an obvious pricing or description error before Course access begins. If payment has

already been taken, UDST will give the User the option to pay the correct amount or cancel the enrolment and receive a refund. All Course fees are generally non-refundable once payment has been made, except where otherwise expressly provided in these Terms, where UDST cancels a Course without providing an alternative arrangement, where a payment has been made in error or duplicate payment has occurred, or where a refund is required by applicable law. Course access will remain available for the period specified on the applicable Course page, which may be one (1) year from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated. Expiry of the applicable access period does not give rise to any right to a refund or extension. Refund requests may be submitted to eudst.support@udst.edu.qa and will be considered in accordance with these Terms and applicable UDST procedures. No refund is payable merely because the User fails to access or complete the Course, does not satisfy the completion requirements, changes their mind after access has been activated, or has their access suspended or terminated for breach of these Terms, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Approved refunds will normally be made to the original payment method. The University may require information reasonably necessary to verify the payment and refund request. Processing times may depend on the payment provider.

5. Intellectual Property

The University owns, or is licensed to use, the intellectual property rights in eUDST, its technical infrastructure, including course content, videos, assessments, and other materials made available through eUDST (collectively, “Content”), as stated in its Intellectual Property Policy, except where a Course expressly states that particular Content is licensed under different terms (e.g., open educational resources). Subject to payment of applicable fees and continued compliance with these Terms, the University grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to access and use the Content during the applicable access period solely for your own educational purposes. You may download or print Content only where eUDST expressly enables or authorises that functionality.

You must not use any part of the Content for commercial purposes, nor remove or alter any trademark, copyright,

or other proprietary notice appearing on it.

The permission to use Content does not extend to material identified as belonging to third parties (for example,

licensed readings, guest-lecturer material, or embedded third-party media); you must obtain permission from the relevant rights holder before reproducing such material. Content identified as belonging to a third party may be subject to additional licence conditions. You may access and use that Content only through eUDST and within the scope permitted for the relevant Course, unless the rights holder expressly permits broader use.

No piracy or unauthorised reproduction and distribution: Course content, in whole or in part, may not be

recorded, screen-captured, reproduced, distributed, sold, sublicensed, or made available on any third-party platform, file-sharing service, or resale marketplace, whether for commercial gain or otherwise. This applies regardless of the format in which Content is accessed (video, PDF, live session, or otherwise).

If you access, download, copy, or share Content in breach of these Terms, UDST may suspend or terminate

your access to eUDST in accordance with Section 7 and you must, at UDST's request, delete or destroy unauthorised copies.

Penalties under Qatari law: Unauthorised use, reproduction, adaptation, communication or distribution of

Course Content may result in action under the applicable law including Law No. 7 of 2002 on the Protection of Copyright and Neighbouring Rights, and UDST policies, including suspension or termination of access and any other remedies available to UDST. User Content:

Ownership of any assignments, submissions, recordings, discussion posts or other material uploaded or

submitted by you through the Platform (“User Content”) shall be determined in accordance with applicable law, the University’s Intellectual Property Policy, any applicable Course-specific terms, and any separate agreement governing the relevant activity. Except to the extent that ownership of User Content vests in or is assigned to the University or a third party under those provisions, you retain your rights in your User Content.

In respect of User Content that you continue to own, you grant the University a non-exclusive, worldwide,

royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, communicate and otherwise use such User Content to the extent reasonably necessary to operate the Platform; deliver, administer and assess the Course; provide feedback; investigate academic-integrity or conduct matters; maintain academic records; verify credentials; and comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

You confirm that you own, or have obtained all rights and permissions necessary to submit, any User Content

and to permit its use in accordance with these Terms.

The University may remove, restrict or preserve User Content where reasonably necessary to administer a

Course, enforce these Terms, investigate misconduct, protect users or systems, or comply with applicable law.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

The University processes personal data relating to eUDST Users in accordance with applicable law and UDST’s Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains the categories of personal data collected, the purposes and legal bases for processing, data retention, disclosure, security measures, and applicable data subject rights. Certain Courses may use identity-verification, video-conferencing, recording, analytics or remote-proctoring technologies. Where applicable, additional information concerning those technologies and any choices available to the User will be provided before the relevant activity. Personal data collected through eUDST may include information relating to your account, enrolment, Course activity, submissions, assessment results, certificates, and, where applicable, video, audio, or activity data generated through proctoring, recording, or video-conferencing tools. Your personal data is processed for purposes including account administration, Course delivery and assessment, verification of completion, issuing certificates or credentials, processing transactions, and communicating with you about Courses and University services where permitted. Where a Course uses third-party platforms or tools, including payment, video-conferencing, or proctoring services, your personal data may be processed by those providers in accordance with the applicable arrangements and privacy notices. The University applies appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it is processed and in accordance with the University's applicable retention requirements. Third-party services may process personal data on behalf of the University or, in some circumstances, for their own stated purposes. Users may be required to review applicable third-party privacy notices before using those services. You have the rights available to you under applicable law, as further described in the Privacy Policy. For full details regarding the processing of your personal data, please refer to the UDST Privacy Policy.

7. Suspension and Termination

The University may suspend or terminate your account and access to eUDST or a Course, with or without notice, where you breach these Terms, the Code of Conduct for Using Online, or applicable law, or where required for security, legal, or regulatory reasons. Depending on the nature and seriousness of the matter, the University may issue a warning, remove Content, restrict particular functionality, suspend Course access, invalidate an assessment or credential, or terminate the account. Where reasonably practicable, UDST will provide notice before suspension or termination, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary for security, legal, regulatory, academic integrity or other legitimate University reasons. Termination or suspension does not affect any rights or obligations that accrued before the date of termination or suspension. You may close your account at any time by contacting the University; this does not automatically entitle you to a refund of fees already paid, which remain governed by Section 4. On termination, the User’s right to access the eUDST and Content ends immediately, except for any functionality that the University expressly keeps available. Provisions concerning intellectual property, User Content, payment, disclaimers, liability, records, governing law and accrued rights survive termination.

Questions, complaints, or requests relating to these Terms, a Course purchase, or a refund can be directed to eUDST support team eudst.support@udst.edu.qa. Privacy-related requests should be submitted through the contact details/process specified in the Privacy Policy.

9. Amendments

UDST may amend these Terms where reasonably necessary to reflect changes in applicable law, regulatory requirements, University policies, eUDST functionality, security requirements or the Courses offered. The revised Terms will identify their effective date. Unless required by applicable law, a material change will not retrospectively alter the principal terms applicable to a Course already purchased by a User. Continued use after the effective date of a notified amendment constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms. Where applicable law or the nature of the change requires express acceptance, UDST may require the User to accept the amended Terms before continuing to use eUDST.

10. Availability and third-party services

The University does not guarantee that eUDST or any Content will be continuously available or free from interruption, delay, technical error or harmful components. The University may carry out maintenance, updates and security work and may restrict access where reasonably necessary. eUDST may contain links to or integrate services operated by third parties. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the University does not control or endorse independently operated third-party services and is not responsible for their availability, content or separate terms. This provision does not limit the University’s responsibility for providers processing personal data on the University’s behalf under applicable law.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, eUDST, Courses and Content are provided on an “as available” basis. The Univversity does not warrant that participation in or completion of a Course will achieve any particular academic, professional, commercial, licensing, or employment result. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the University will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of opportunity, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss arising from a User’s failure to comply with technical requirements or Course instructions.

12. General Terms

These Terms and the documents expressly incorporated into them constitute the agreement between UDST and

the User concerning eUDST and the relevant Course, except for any separate written agreement expressly stated to prevail.

These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the laws of the State of

Qatar. The competent courts of the State of Qatar have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory legal requirement to the contrary.

These Terms are issued in Arabic and English, and in case of a discrepancy, the Arabic version shall prevail.
The University may send notices to the email address registered to the User’s account or display them

prominently through eUDST.

Assignment. You may not transfer your account, enrolment or rights under these Terms. UDST may transfer or

delegate its rights and obligations to another University entity or service provider where this does not materially reduce the User’s rights and is permitted by law.

Appendix A

eUDST Online Learning Code of Conduct

Effective: September 2026

Applies to: All participants enrolled in eUDST online courses and programs The eUDST Online Learning Code of Conduct establishes the standards of conduct expected for respectful, responsible, and ethical participation in eUDST online Courses. They apply to all participants enrolled in or accessing eUDST Courses and form part of and shall be read together with eUDST Terms & Conditions and applicable UDST policies and procedures.

1. Respectful and Professional Conduct

Participants are expected to contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and professional online learning environment. Participants must:

Communicate respectfully with instructors, staff, and other participants.
Use appropriate and professional language in discussion forums, email, chats, video sessions, and other

Course activities.

Respect different perspectives, backgrounds, experiences, and opinions.
Refrain from harassment, bullying, discrimination, intimidation, threats, or disruptive behaviour.
Avoid conduct that interferes with another participant’s ability to learn or participate effectively.
Comply with applicable UDST policies and procedures concerning harassment, discrimination, safeguarding

and respectful conduct.

2. Academic Integrity and Authentic Participation

Participants are expected to complete learning activities and assessments honestly and to uphold applicable UDST academic integrity requirements. Participants must:

Submit their own work unless collaboration is expressly permitted.
Follow the instructions provided for assignments, quizzes, examinations, and other assessments.
Properly acknowledge and cite sources and materials used in their work.
Not engage in cheating, plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, impersonation, or misrepresentation of work.
Comply with any Course-specific requirements regarding collaboration, external resources, or assessment

conditions. Participants must comply with the applicable UDST academic integrity and any Course-specific academic integrity requirements.

3. Responsible Use of Online Resources and Artificial Intelligence

Participants may use online resources, digital tools, and artificial intelligence (AI) tools only in accordance with the requirements specified for the relevant Course or learning activity. Participants are expected to:

Use only resources and tools permitted by the Course or instructor.
Follow Course-specific requirements concerning the use and disclosure of AI-generated or AI-assisted

content.

Acknowledge or cite the use of external resources or AI tools where required.
Verify the accuracy and appropriateness of information obtained from online or AI-enabled resources.
Not use technology or online resources to obtain an unauthorized advantage in an assessment.
Not use AI tools to impersonate another person, fabricate sources or results, circumvent assessment controls,

or generate work that is represented as their own where such use is prohibited or must be disclosed. Where a Course prohibits the use of AI or other external resources for a particular assessment, participants must comply with that requirement. Nothing in this Code of Conduct authorises the submission, disclosure or processing of confidential information, Personal Data, proprietary or otherwise restricted information through third-party AI tools or other online services unless expressly authorised by UDST.

4. Privacy and Confidentiality

Participants must respect the privacy and confidentiality of other participants, instructors, and University personnel. Participants must comply with applicable data protection and privacy requirements when handling personal data relating to other participants, instructors, staff or other individuals. Unless expressly authorized, participants must not:

Share another person’s personal information.
Record, reproduce, screenshot, photograph, download, or distribute online classes, discussions, presentations,

or participant contributions.

Share Course discussions, participant information, or other non-public Course content outside eUDST

learning environment.

Allow another person to access their eUDST account.

Participants are responsible for protecting their own login credentials and personal information.

5. Course Materials and Intellectual Property

Course materials made available through eUDST are provided for the educational use of registered participants and are protected by applicable intellectual property and copyright laws. Participants must:

Use Course materials only for their intended educational purpose.
Respect the intellectual property rights of UDST, instructors, content creators, and third parties.
Not reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, upload, or otherwise share Course materials without authorization.

Additional requirements concerning intellectual property and unauthorized reproduction are set out in the Intellectual Property Policy, and these eUDST Terms & Conditions.

6. Responsible Use of eUDST

Participants agree that when using eUDST, they will not engage in or attempt to engage in any of the following practices, which constitute prohibited use of eUDST, and which constitute misconduct, punishable under the applicable University policies:

Violating any applicable law or regulation;
Uploading, transmitting, or otherwise sharing any content you do not have the right to upload, transmit, or

share;

Using eUDST for personal financial gain or non-educational, commercial purposes;
Sharing or providing access to eUDST with unauthorized individuals;
Installing unauthorized software or equipment;
Disclosing confidential or sensitive information without consent or authorization;
Violating policy or measures intended to ensure network, computer, and data security and to safeguard

against theft or loss;

Violating copyright law, such as sharing copyrighted electronic material without permission or otherwise

engaging in illegal file-sharing activities;

Violating terms of software licensing agreements;
Creating a hostile work/learning environment;
Using a University e-mail account for unofficial or unauthorized purposes;
Assuming a false identity, or masking the identity of an account or machine without permission;
Implying University endorsement of a product, service, or statement without prior written approval from

University;

Using University’s name or seal without appropriate authorization;
Uploading, transmitting, or otherwise sharing content that infringes any trademark, patent, trade secret,

Uploading or transmitting content that infringes the law or third party rights, or which includes activities or

statements which are discriminatory, offensive, obscene or defamatory or which may cause offence to others on grounds of nationality, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, faith or disability;

Uploading or transmitting content that is unlawful, fraudulent, untrue, stalking, harassing, libelous, abusive,

tortious, threatening, hateful, harmful or otherwise objectionable as determined in University’s sole discretion;

Posting messages that support or condone any illegal activities, such as drug use, piracy, hacks, etc.
Causing damage to University’s business, reputation, employees, students, members, facilities, or to any

other person or legal entity;

Attempting to intercept, collect or store data about third parties without their knowledge or consent;
Deleting, tampering with, or revising content posted by any other user unless otherwise permitted;
Sending or attempting to send unsolicited or unauthorized messages, including promotions or advertisements

for products or services, "spam", "chain mail" or "junk mail";

Attempting to decipher, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer any of the software comprising or in

any way making up a part of eUDST;

Interfering or attempting to interfere with the access of any user of eUDST, including by sending a "virus"

to eUDST or any network or system provided by University or used to operate eUDST, or overloading, "flooding," "spamming," "crashing," or "mailbombing" any of the foregoing;

Using eUDST to make fraudulent offers to sell or buy products, items, or services or to advance any type of

financial scam;

Excessively high volume data transfers or bandwidth consumption, hosting of a web server, internet relay

chat server, or any other server, and non-traditional end user activities;

Accessing eUDST using false, inaccurate or misleading information, subscribing to eUDST in another

person’s or a false name or accessing eUDST on behalf of other persons, who are not qualified for or previously blocked from eUDST;

Creating a user profile for anyone other than yourself; and/or use or attempt to use another’s account;
Interfering with the proper working of eUDST or University websites;
Bypassing the measures that University may use to prevent or restrict access to eUDST.
Collecting or harvesting any personally-identifiable information, including user or account names, from

eUDST;

Renting, leasing, loaning, trading, selling/re-selling access to eUDST or related data;
Removing any copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights notices contained in or on eUDST;
Overlaying or otherwise modifying eUDST or its appearance; or
Using eUDST for tasks that it is not intended for.

7. Compliance

Participants are responsible for familiarizing themselves with this Code of Conduct and the applicable UDST policies, procedures, and Course requirements. Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in appropriate action in accordance with applicable University policies, procedures, Course requirements, or eUDST Terms & Conditions, including suspension or termination of access to eUDST or a Course. This Code of Conduct does not replace or supersede any applicable UDST policy, procedure, regulation, academic integrity requirement, or law. In the event of any inconsistency, the applicable law and mandatory UDST policies, regulation and requirements shall prevail to the extent of the inconsistency. Suspected misconduct, harassment, security incidents or inappropriate Content may be reported the University. The University may review relevant eUDST records and preserve information reasonably necessary to investigate the matter, subject to applicable law and University policy. By accessing or participating in an eUDST Course, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Code of Conduct, eUDST Terms & Conditions and applicable UDST policies, procedures and requirements.
